Here we are Seniors! We made it to graduation and I don't know about you but it feels great! So next Sunday will be the last time as students at Avon Lake High School and by 5 o'clock that same day we will all be Alumni's. Scary huh?
Everyone keeps saying "Oh I remember when we were freshmen, it feels like yesterday though". But to me, I can hardly remember who the person I was 4 years ago, this school has changed me in so many ways. When I say this school I mean the teachers, my friends, teammates, and enemies, we all say how much we want to leave and move on with our lifes and we might mean some of it but I know that everyone graduating this year will miss it here in some way, shape, or form. For me it will be a lot of the teachers, like Mr. Fred or Mrs. Hallett even Mr. Arra haha. After this there are people you will never see again or maybe friends you will have for life but as a class we have had a lot of ups and downs, drama and good times, but together we are the Class of 2011 and we always will be.
So my advice to those up and coming seniors, all I can say is savor it, do things you've been to scared to, talk to people in your grade that you've never have before, go to homecoming, go to football games, fall in like, visit colleges, because this is the only senior year of high school you will ever get, don't you think you should remember it?

The Night You Will Always Remember
I know this blog is a little late, but my topic was advice on prom and that's what I'm going to give haha. So, prom! The one night were you can get put pounds of make up on your face, enough hair spray in your hair to pollute half of Ohios air, and then make sure you get skin cancer extra early in those tanning beds. All so you can spend 200 dollars on your date, have your parents take a thousands of unflattering pictures and take a ride in a limo so you can awkwardly dance with a bunch of people that names you don't really know. Glamorious right?
Well I went to prom last year and that was what I thought of it, so even though prom might not be my thing doesn't mean others can enjoy it.
1. If you aren't going with a boyfriend or girlfriend make sure your going with someone you trust, not someone that will ditch you half way threw prom to go get drunk and leave you with no ride home.
2. If your a guy asking a girl to prom, think of a creative way to ask her, it will better your chances on getting a yes.
3. Don't over do the make up and hair, the more the make up doesn't meant he prettier you will look, I promise.
4.Don't freak out if some other girl has the same dress as you, we live in Ohio with like four malls closest to us it unrealistic to thinking that your the only girl in the world that bought the dress.
5.Go to the After Prom thrown by the school, it might sound lame but they are usually more fun then actual prom.
6. Dance! That's thepoint in prom, don't sit around and watch losers grind, when you could be one of them!
7. Get a lot of pictures before and after prom, it's a night to remember!
8. Save all the slow dances for your date, they came with you they deserve the portion of the time when your not dry humping.
But lastly have fun, prom might not be for you (like me) but you'll never know unless you go, you might have the night you will always remember.

Taking My Tan to Southbeach
Spring Break 2011 is next week and Alyssa Smith and myself will be in Southbeach, unlike LeBron we will be back in 10 days. The weather is going to be in the 90's with alot of sun and that's just what we both need, some vitamin D. Going to the pool everyday, riding bikes around town, beach days, and virgin pina colda's, that's what will consist of my vaction, and I simply can't wait.
But it seems like every year some pretty blonde college student goes missing during spring break, never to be found again. That is the scary part about spring break, it always seems no one is careful. So if you are going anywhere for spring break here are some tips on staying safe.
1. Use the buddy system! If you go out to the beach, mall or even a party make sure your always with one or two other people, never split up.
2. Always have your cell phone on you, because accidents happen all the time and to be in a place your no familiar with could be very dangerous in a bad situation.
3. Don't go off with people you just met, no matter how dreamy their eyes are.
4. Keep your ID on you at all times when going out for emergencies.
5. Wear sunscreen! Unless you want to look like a lobster and pick up some skin cancer on your spring break, wear atleast a 15 proof sunscreen.
These tips don't apply to you if your just going to vaction with your family and your parents will be with you at all times. They also don't apply to you if your staying in Avon Lake for spring break, if that's the case for you then, HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA have fun.
PEACE SON!

This Isn't Full House and I'm Not The Olsen Twins
Once Upon a Time there was three Aerni's going to Avon Lake High Schools and the halls were an awkward place. Every single year I've been in the high school I've had one sibling in school with me. Sometimes it's a drag and sometimes it's a good thing. But having an older brother or a younger sister in the same high school is not the end of the world. My freshmen year was horrible with an older brother who was a year ahead of me. He was in the same lunch as me and sat TWO tables away from me. Him and al his football friends would call me " Anthony"s Brother". I felt like a totally loser around him, But the only good thing having him there was, having him there haha when I needed someone to help me with anything from 7:45 am to 2:52 pm I had him.
My junior year my brother was a senior and my sister was a freshmen, driving to school everyday and getting there on time was impossible. If you want an awkward story, one word, Homecoming. All three of us had dates, and all three of us were dancing, and all three of us ran into each other at least four times dancing. But I also had a lot of fun being a part of my older brothers senior year and a part of my sisters first year in high school. So I might not ever know what it's like to be alone in high school, but I do know that us Aerni's now how to make school a family party.

Thank God it's Friday Night and I.... Have to Work?
Having a job in high school has a lot of positive things, like getting paid on a friday night with parties poppin' and booties shaking all around? no but getting paid and having your own finances, it also teaches you time management and you start to learn responsibility. But along with the positives come the negatives.
When you have a job in high school you have to use your time wisely. If you get too many hours at work and have no time to do homework, your grades will slip and the money you make won't mean much. Another negative is working the weekends, when you could be out with your friends but instead you have to at work until close. You miss football games, parties, sleep overs and a lot of school events. Your friday nights will be a lot different.
The best job I had in high school was working at The Little Gym. The hours were good because the gym closed at 8 so I could still do things on the weekend. Also, I worked birthday parties for kids 1 to 11 years old so everything was always happy and cheerful. The people I worked with were also very fun to be around there was a Geppeto's under the gym so my lunches were always delishious.
In the end, having a job in high school is worth it, you just need to sacrifice some friday nights for the minimum wage you will be paid.

Idk My BFF Jill...
Friendships in high school are hard, a lot of the friends you make will come and go but you always have one or two that stick around with you all four years, and beyond that. You could even meet your best friend half way through your senior year, because in high school it is all about finding out who you are and your friends are evidence to who you want to be, and who you want to be surrounded by.
In my four years my friends have changed every year because every year I was also changing in the person I am today. But I have two great best friends, one that has been there for me since sophomore year, and one that has been there for me for a couple months. I think everyone should have a small group of friends they can trust and can be themselves around because a lot of the girls in our school tend to hang out with girls they don't even like just because they don't like being alone on a friday night. So they fake there feelings towards each other, talking behind each others back, then take a bunch of lame Facebook pictures to show the world that they indeed have a "life" even if it's a boring one. But that's high school for you but in the end it is so much better to have a few close friends that you love then a million friends that you hate.
But enough about the seriousness in friendships, because if you know me I tend to be very unserious. Friends should be people you can be weird with, and laugh with. They should be people you can dance to "Don't You Want Me Baby?" on Chat Roulette at 1 am in the morning, or people you can pee in bushes together, or someone that you can sit on the couch with for hours watching crazy people get arrested on cops, or get your car stuck in a ditch going to Olive Garden and find hot guys with trucks to help you out, they should be someone that makes the most boring things, interesting. Because memories like the ones I have will last so much longer then a profile pictures on Facebook.

You're Ruining My Life!
The most common words that come out of a teenagers mouth towards their parents are the four dramaic words "You're ruining my life!". Dealing with parents is very hard when your a teenager in high school but believe it or not you can have a good relationship with them.
Everything parents do for you is for your benefit because no matter how much you disagree with them they want to best for you and if that means ruining your life for 24 hours they will do it. I have a really good relationship with my mom, it is no where to be perfect, but I have never told her that I hated her or said that she was ruining my life because we usually don't have reasons to say those words. I tell my mom the truth and she does the same to me, I tell her my problems and she tells me hers, I help her with whatever she needs and she does the same for me. Overall we have a good relationship, we have alot of fun together. But we do fight just like anyother daughter/mother, the thing is we make up.
